Loughborough University

IPSOL, through it parent, has a strategic partnership with Loughborough University and its Centre for Renewable Energy Systems Technology (CREST). It is this relationship with CREST and its use of facilities, in the first instance, which allows the company to rapidly launch its services into the Solar PV market.

CREST's remit is to advance renewable energy technology so as to provide substantial and benign energy options for present and future generations. CREST's main areas of activities include:

  • Contribution to the development and implementation of renewable energy through high quality research and demonstration
  • Working with research institutions, industry and related organizations world-wide to promote renewable energy
  • Provision of training and education in both theoretical and practical aspects of renewable energy systems technology.

Today, CREST is firmly established within the Department of Electronic & Electrical Engineering at Loughborough University as one of the leading international groups working in the field of renewable energy. The centre holds an excellent track record in research and education, with growing numbers of staff members and external contracts currently exceeding £1.5 million.

Research activities at CREST cover a range of technical applications, including wind power, solar PV, energy in buildings, grid connection & integration and energy storage (including hydrogen).
